Winford Farm Fishery Rules & Regulations
All anglers must read and agree to these rules prior to fishing. Failure to comply may result in immediate removal from the fishery without refund. No exceptions.
Arrival & Conduct
- All anglers must report to the bailiff or office upon arrival.
- No fishing is permitted without a valid ticket or booking confirmation.
- Visitors and guests are strictly prohibited unless pre-authorised by management.
- Noise must be kept to an absolute minimum at all times. No loud music, shouting, or disruptive behaviour.
- Alcohol is permitted in moderation only. Drunkenness or drug use will result in immediate eviction.
- No fires allowed under any circumstances. Gas or spirit stoves only.
- Respect other anglers and maintain reasonable distances between swims.
- The lake is strictly out of bounds for swimming, wading, or bathing.
Tackle & Fishing Rules
- Barbless hooks ONLY. No micro-barbs or crushed barbs.
- Minimum mainline of 15lb breaking strain required.
- Braided mainline prohibited, except on spod and marker rods.
- Maximum of 3 rods per angler. Rod licences must cover the number of rods used.
- No rods to be left unattended at any time.
- All fish must be returned to the water immediately. Retention slings only for brief weighing or photography.
- Strictly NO fish to be retained in sacks.
- All rigs must be safe rigs. Bailiffs have the right to inspect rigs at any time.
- No fixed leads, bent hooks, or dangerous rigs allowed.
- Use of leaders, tubing or safe zones is encouraged to protect fish.
Fish Care
- Large, padded unhooking mats are mandatory. No small mats or bare ground unhooking.
- Large landing nets (minimum 42” spreader block) are compulsory.
- Fish must be kept wet at all times while out of the water.
- Keep fish out of water for the shortest time possible.
- Antiseptic treatments must be applied to all hook holds or wounds.
- No standing up while holding fish for photographs. Kneel over the mat at all times.
- Ensure weigh slings and mats are soaked before use.
Bait & Environmental Rules
- Particles must be properly prepared and soaked. Proof may be requested by bailiffs.
- No nuts of any kind (including tiger nuts) unless prior permission has been granted.
- Excessive baiting is forbidden. Use bait sensibly to protect water quality and fish health.
- No glass bottles allowed on site.
- All litter must be taken home. Anyone leaving litter will be banned from returning.
- Toilets must be used. Absolutely no defecation or urination in bushes or behind swims.
- Respect wildlife, flora, and fauna at all times. Any harm to wildlife will result in permanent banning.
- Do not cut or damage vegetation or trees.
- No swimming, paddling, or entering the lake under any circumstances.
Enforcement & Liability
- Bailiff decisions are final and non-negotiable.
- The fishery reserves the right to check rigs, tackle, and bait at any time.
- The fishery accepts no responsibility for injury, theft, loss, or damage to personal property.
- Anyone found breaking the rules will be asked to leave immediately, without refund, and may be permanently banned.
- These rules are in place to protect the welfare of our fish, preserve the beauty of the lake, and ensure all anglers enjoy a safe and respectful fishing environment. Thank you for your cooperation.
Dogs & Vehicles
- Dogs only allowed with prior permission and must be kept on a lead at all times. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.
- Vehicles must be parked in designated areas only. No driving around the lake unless authorised.
- No sleeping in cars or vans outside of allocated fishing sessions without permission.
